| The side of martial arts which is not often
regarded by the public, is the healing aspect. For centuries warriors
had to heal their own wounds, so a great deal of knowledge was
gradually acquired. Chinese Kung Fu masters were often the only local
healers in their community.
While chi has been historically difficult to define,
it is as much a part of our bodies as blood, nerves or bones, therefore
the creation of God. It has understandably been misunderstood because
of the way traditional Chinese culture has described it. Historical
vinacular spoke of it in terms of metaphor and poetic mystery, leading
western theologians to wrongly perceive it as occult. Modern science
has been able to identify and measure chi as a photo, electro-magnetic
energy that travels through specific pathways in the body called
meridians. In other words, it’s analogous to your body’s electrical
system. The whole universe is filled with EME (electro-magnetic energy).
The earth’s EME field is what protects us from the sun's powerful EME
bursts. It surrounds and penetrates all living things. It moves in
and out of our bodies, in harmony with our breath. As we inhale the
energy sinks through the skin into the bones. As we exhale, it pushes
out through the skin. The meridians circulate chi to every part of the
body thereby nourishing and keeping the whole system in balance.
Chinese medicine seeks to heal by helping the body return to a state
homeostasis or balance, through the use of acupuncture, herbs and
exercise (chi kung).
Yes there are those unscrupulous individuals who pretend to have magical powers and
deceive many, for profit and power. But this can be said of some phony Christian healers as well.
God did not give us the spirit of fear but
of freedom and truth.
